Cari Vega is a Safety Specialist for the City of Arlington. She has worked for the City of Arlington Human Resources Department for 10 years focusing on FMLA and workers compensation; in 2020 she moved into the risk management division serving as a Safety Specialist. Her favorite part of her job is to find solutions that make employee jobs safer, this is for her the most satisfying aspect of her job. She credits Texas PRIMA with providing quality educational resources and network opportunities that have helped her build valuable relationships. Cari states she is part of a great team at the City of Arlington, whose organization has been recognized with several National Safety Council achievement awards for their exemplary traffic safety program. She firmly believes “there is no innovation without risk” words of wisdom she often shares with her team. Cari is currently pursuing a safety certification and hopes to start her master’s degree studies in Human Resources soon.
